McHugh family welcomed to Poolfoot Farm

13 April 2018

Fleetwood Town helped put a smile back on the faces of a football loving family after a holiday to forget in Blackpool.

The McHugh family from Scotland, were on holiday on the Fylde Coast when their car was stolen on Blackpool Promenade. The BMW X6 contained a signed Glasgow Celtic shirt, which was set to be auctioned off for charity, with signatures from manager Brendan Rodgers, and captain Scott Brown amongst others.

After hearing of the family’s ordeal, the club invited father Arthur, his wife Lyn, and their children Liam, Ciaran and Caimhe to Poolfoot Farm to watch the first team train, as well as meet the squad and first team head coach John Sheridan.

A family were presented with a signed ball and shirt by former Celtic favourite and now Town under 18s coach Stephen Crainey, who chatted all things Celtic throughout the afternoon!

The car was later found, with the football shirt inside, meaning the McHugh’s week ended better than it started!
