Lancashire Senior Cup Final just a week away

Development Squad set to face Bury at Leyland

4 April 2018

Fleetwood Town’s Development Squad will take Bury in the Lancashire Senior Cup Final on Wednesday 11th April (7:30pm KO).

The final will take place at The County Ground, Leyland, with tickets only available on the day and will cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions (under 15s or over 65s).

Paul Murray’s Fleetwood side will be looking to lift the trophy for the first time in the club’s history after narrowly missing out in the final last season, losing on penalties to Liverpool.

The Cod Army’s journey to the final began with Ashley Hunter scoring twice in a 3-0 win over Blackpool in the quarter finals.

Town sealed a spot in the final thanks to a 2-0 win over AFC Fylde in the semis, with Michael Donohue and Joao Morelli on the scoresheet.

In contrast to Fleetwood, Bury have won the Senior Cup 10 times, with their most recent success coming in 2015.

The Shakers beat Preston 2-1 in the quarters and needed a penalty shootout to overcome Blackburn to book their place in Wednesday’s final.
