Jordy Hiwula says the Fleetwood Town squad are determined to get a good result on Tuesday night against Bradford City.

Former Bantams striker Hiwula – who scored 12 goals for the West Yorkshire side last season in all competitions – was speaking to the media on Monday at Poolfoot Farm.

Following defeats to Portsmouth and Southend United in the last two matches, the 23-year-old says that Tuesday night’s game is the perfect time to respond.

“They are doing really well at the moment and we have to go there and show them what we can do,” said Hiwula.

“I had a good time there when I was there last season, but now I’m at Fleetwood Town and I’m concentrating on what we need to do here.

“Everyone is really determined to put things right. Tomorrow is a great opportunity to go to Bradford and show everyone what we can do. It should be a good game.”

Both sides met in the Sky Bet League One playoffs last season, with City narrowly edging the two-legged tie 1-0 on aggregate, and Hiwula knows what to expect from Tuesday’s match.

“We are expecting a tough game,” added Hiwula.

“We know that they will try and press us high up the pitch which means we need to keep the ball well and try to break them down further up the pitch.

“Tomorrow will be a good test to see where we are.

“It’s always good for the fans to come down and support the team. We have seen them travel down to Portsmouth and other places so hopefully we can get a few down there tomorrow.”
