Uwe Rosler says his team must expect the unexpected as Fleetwood prepare to face a versatile Walsall side on Tuesday night.
The Cod Army travel to the Banks’s Stadium following Saturday’s draw with Doncaster Rovers, looking for another positive result following the 1-0 victory against The Saddlers last season.
Jon Whitney’s side go into the game on the back of three successive defeats, but Rosler was keen to stress the challenges his team will face in the West Midlands.
“With Walsall you never know what you’re going to get because they play a few systems,” said Rosler.
“We know them really well from last year when they played three at the back and played similar like us.
“This season they started off with three at the back again, and then changed to different formations with a back four.
“We have done our homework but in the end we need to focus on ourselves, we need to focus on our pattern off play, which areas we want to attack and hopefully we can get the upper hand.”
Town were the more dominant side on Saturday, and kept another clean sheet at home, something Rosler is hoping to build on.
“It’s always good to have a clean sheet,” added Rosler.
“It is important that we create some sort of confidence in the team that we believe we can keep a clean sheet.
“That allows us with one good counter or one goal to win games.
“In general I think it’s important that we find a good balance between getting clean sheets but also attacking in the right way.”
The Town boss refused to use injuries as an excuse as he is still without a number of key players.
“I think we are not facing a completely unusual situation by having suspensions and injuries.
“For me I am not changing my approach.
“We have to rotate. Players are here for a reason, this club has chosen players because of their ability and their character to contribute.
“Now is the time to show for themselves and for us what they can deliver.”
