Last Saturday Fleetwood Town teamed up with the Fleetwood Sea Cadets for the launch of the 2017 National Poppy Appeal in the area.

We would like to thank all the FTFC and Oxford United fans that donated and helped raise a fantastic £912 for the Poppy Appeal.

Cadets, their instructors and local veterans collected money in exchange for poppy's from around the ground before forming a guard of honour for the two sides.

Courtney Bushell, Business Development Officer, said: "it was great to join forces with the local sea cadets and veterans and raise money for a good cause.

"I would also like to thank Councillor Terry Rodgers for his assistance in organising the fundraising activity.

"With next year being the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1, we can hopefully build on the successes of this year and create another fantastic event."
