Fleetwood’s top scorer looks ahead to Bolton this Saturday

David Ball has hailed Fleetwood Town’s unbeaten run in Sky Bet League One as ‘incredible’.

Town are unbeaten since November last year, and have risen to second in the league but that run on the line on Saturday against Bolton Wanderers at Highbury.

The Cod Army number ten is enjoying the run as they enter the final 11 games of the season.

“It’s times like these that throughout your career you will never forget,” said Ball, who is Town’s top scorer in all competitions.

“You’ve got to cherish runs like this as we are but at the same time, we remain focused on the task at hand and we will do everything we can to stop teams taking this from us.”

“It’s incredible when you think about it!”

Ball was on the scoresheet the last time the two sides met in August, but Phil Parkinson’s side came away with the three points in a 2-1 win.

“I thought we were unlucky to come away from the game with nothing, I thought we played well,” said Ball.

“There’s no getting away from the fact that they are a good team with Championship and Premier League experience.

“We’ll be ready for them though as we are for every game.”

The former Peterborough striker is expecting a tough, physical game on Saturday – with Bolton looking for their first win in five games.

“I don’t think they will change the way they play; they will still be physical and make it hard for us to play our game.

“We’ve got the type of players that can mix it up as well.

“The group as a whole can adapt the way we play to suit any game and opponent.”

“We will focus on the next game and find a way to win and have a bit of pride to keep our run going.”
