Conor McAleny says ‘exciting times’ are ahead for Fleetwood Town are signing a three-year deal with the club.
McAleny has joined the Cod Army from Premier League side Everton after scoring ten goals in just 14 starts on loan for fellow League One side Oxford United last season.
The 24 year-old spoke to the club's YouTube channel shortly after putting pen to paper at Town’s training ground Poolfoot Farm.
“I’m delighted, it’s a club on the up and I’m very excited to be a part of it,” said McAleny.
“I am an attacking player and I’ll work hard for the team - that goes without saying. I like to chip in with a few goals and I’ve always got my eyes on the goal.
“It’s exciting times, like I said, they are a club on the up. I know the manager, they are a good bunch of lads, the facilities are spot on and it’s definitely the right place to be.”
McAleny has worked with Town’s head coach Uwe Rosler at Brentford and is looking forward to linking back up with the German.
“He’s a top manager you know and he gets the best out of players,” added McAleny.
“You can see the players responding really well to him here so that’s the way he is so I’m pleased.
“It’s definitely the right time for me to come here. I need to go somewhere and settle down and make it on my own, this is the best place to do it.”
