Defender Ashley Eastham is looking forward to facing up against his home town club on Friday as Preston North End travel to Highbury for a pre-season friendly. (7:30pm k/o)

Eastham – who supported Preston as a kid – will carry on his pre-season against a club who he is very familiar with. The defender has played a part in games against Queen of the South, Karlsruher SC, FK Jablonec and Bolton Wanderers in the last three weeks.

The 26-year old revealed that he always enjoys playing against his childhood club but nothing will get in the way of him getting his job done.

“I always enjoy playing them, they are my home town club and the club I supported growing up,” said Eastham.

“It’s no different to any team really, I just want to get the win.

“There’s a couple of lads that I’ve played with in the past but that all goes out the window on game day as it’s important to get the foundations in for the new season.”

The defender also mentioned that a few familiar faces will be at the game on Friday, ones which is looking forward to seeing again.

Eastham said: “I’ve played with Chris Maxwell, I came on loan here as a young lad and he wasn’t actually the first-choice keeper the first time I came here but he’s done good for himself and he deserves every credit.

“There’s Ben Davies as well who did fantastic for us last season, he’s a good pal of mine and I look forward to seeing them both.”
