The Cod Army will be hoping to continue their good run of form at Highbury against seventh placed Southend United. Fleetwood currently sit fourth in the Sky Bet League One, seven points above the Shrimps.

Town are looking for their sixth straight league win after beating league leaders Sheffield United 2-0 at Bramall Lane. Southend, who have only lost one in their last fifteen league matches, will be looking to end Fleetwood’s unbeaten run.

Last time the two teams met was in August 2016 where Town came out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Chris Long and Ash Hunter.

The Cod Army haven’t lost in their last three matches against Southend having drawn two and won one.

27th August 2016:

Southend 0-2 Fleetwood (Long, Hunter)

9th April 2016:

Southend 2 (Barrett, Payne) Fleetwood 2 (Grant, McLaughlin)

8th August 2015:

Fleetwood 1 (McManus) Southend 1 (Worrall)

Overall Saturday’s match will be the eighth encounter of the two teams after both teams having won one and drawn the remaining five.
