Town's Head Coach reacts after ending 2016 with a win at Highbury

Uwe Rosler said he ‘couldn’t have asked for anymore’ from his players after picking up four points from six over the Christmas period.

A late Josh Law own goal ensured Town ended 2016 with a ten match unbeaten run, one which Rosler is more than pleased with.

“It was a good win,” said Rosler.

“I don’t think it was a football exhibition from the two teams but we got the win today. Both teams cancelled each other out and they tried to grind out a result.

“The second half, I think was tougher for us because they pinned us back a little bit in the last 10-15 minutes.

“We looked good on the counter-attack, which is our game anyway and finally our substitute Devante Cole really helped us win the game.”

The German is also happy that his side are performing, even with all the problems with injuries at this current time.

“I think two games average two points, I can’t ask for anymore, especially with the problems we have on the injury front.

“Two clean sheets, I don’t think they had massive chances today so it was solid.

“We grinded it out and we were aware that the game would go right to the wire from the beginning, we knew that we couldn’t make any stupid mistakes today and that’s what we did.

“We stuck in the game, kept focused and we made good substitutions in Devante and Chris, and they really added some quality and energy up front and that helped us.

Rosler was happy with the strike force at Fleetwood, especially Devante Cole with the way he composed himself after coming off the bench and helping his side get the only goal of the game.

“I think Devante has been doing that for a while, whether he starts or comes on.

“I have told him that I am not judging him on goals but we also have David Ball, Ash Hunter.

“We have a number of strikers and I think the way we are doing it now is that relentless match programme is the best way to get the best out of all four of them.”
