Coach happy with behind closed doors win

First Team coach Barry Nicholson praised Fleetwood after winning a behind closed doors match with Bury on Tuesday.

A goal from Alex Reid on debut and one for Jack Sowerby sealed a 2-1 win, with Nicholson impressed with Reid in particular.

"For Alex to get a goal on his first run out is great," said Nicholson.

"It was a really professional performance between two evenly matched sides. We moved the ball well and showed good energy. Both Alex (Reid) and Ashley Nadesan showed great willingness to run in behind was impressive.

"Overall we are delighted."

Reid scored his goal following a fine pass from Dan Mooney, with Sowerby getting on the end of Kieran Dunbar's cross to seal the win.

The result also came on the same day as Fleetwood's Development Squad reached the last four of the Lancashire FA Cup after an impressive 4-0 win over Morecambe. A Ged Garner hat-trick and penalty from Elliot Osborne sealed the win.
