New signing Ben Davies was thrown straight into the action by Head Coach Uwe Rosler on Monday as Town beat Shrewsbury 1-0.
The 21-year-old proved stellar resistance at the back producing a fine display alongside Nathan Pond and Cian Bolger, whilst further preserving Town’s 11-game unbeaten run.
Following on from Monday, here is more you need to know about our new signing.
The Barrow-born defender is an experienced player despite his young age.
Davies has had successful loan spells at York City, Tranmere Rovers, Southport and Newport County, earning a total of 93 Football League experiences.
Fleetwood’s new man made his full Preston first-team debut at the age of only 17, and even made an assist in the game, drawing praise from then manager Graham Westley.
After establishing himself as a promising young talent at Preston, it was no surprise that Davies was named as Scholar of the Year for the 2012-13 season.
Davies has made two appearances for Simon Grayson's side this season in the EFL Cup, against AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United.
Despite describing himself as being a ball-playing centre half, Rosler was impressed with his heading ability on his debut against Paul Hurst’s side, and standing at six foot one inches, fans should expect many more successful aerial duels.
Town’s new signing also possesses a large social-media presence, enjoying over 3.5k followers on twitter and fans can welcome him by searching @BenDavies1108 on the site.
