In-form striker expects tough game against Bristol City

Devante Cole claims Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup clash against Bristol City is a ‘big game for the club’ as his side look to create history.

In-form Cole played a pivotal part in Fleetwood’s cup run, bagging a brace in the previous round that ensured Town fought back from a two goal deficit to win 3-2 against Shrewsbury Town.

Cole also scored the winning goal against the same opponents on Monday, to extend Town’s unbeaten run to 11 games in all competitions.

“I want to stay fit, stay healthy and continue to score goals like I have been doing.

“I would probably say that I am playing my best football for Fleetwood right now however there is a lot more to come and I wish to keep it up.”

The former Manchester City junior also heaped praise on manager Uwe Rosler and how he has improved him as a player.

“He does a lot to do with striker’s movements, just little things that those who have played up-front will know about.

“So I’d say he has definitely helped me a lot in that way.”

With his upturn in form Cole knows how important qualification into the next round is for the club, but says the team will be focused on the job in hand.

“It is a big game for the club, if we win it, it will be the first the club has ever been into the fourth round.

“For the players now it is a game we look at now and think we really have a chance here, they are not in the best of form and we are in great form, so I feel like anything could happen.

“It’s going to be a hard game but we know we have to do our best.”
