Two of Sky Bet League One’s form sides meet at Highbury on Saturday as Fleetwood Town host Southend United (3pm kick-off).

Phil Brown’s Shrimps have only lost one of their last 15 league matches, while Uwe Rosler’s side are unbeaten in their last 11.

LAST TIME OUT

Town produced arguably their best result of the season on Tuesday night – a fine 2-0 away win at Sheffield United.

Conor McLaughlin fired Fleetwood ahead before half-time, with Devante Cole scoring his fifth of the season to secure all three points and keep the Cod Army fourth in the table.

Southend were due to face Bolton Wanderers last Saturday, but the match was called off due to a frozen pitch meaning we have to go back nearly two weeks until their last match.

The Shrimps beat Rochdale 2-1 at Roots Hall, with Marc-Antoine Fortune opening the scoring in the first half. Keith Keane was the sent off for Rochdale before Jermaine McGlashan followed suit before the break.

A late, late Simon Cox winner deep into injury time ensured that the hosts stay in touching distance of the play offs.

OPPOSITION VIEW

Southend manager Phil Brown said in his pre-match interview:

“A draw wouldn’t be a bad result because they are a team in form. But for sure we are going up there to win the game.

“Whatever comes out of their changing room will be dangerous but they know whatever’s coming out of our changing room will be dangerous as well.

“We’ve got a score to settle [after previous result earlier in the season].”
