Head coach Uwe Rosler says he was ‘disappointed’ that his side didn’t create enough chances in the 0-0 home draw with Rochdale.

Town made it 14 games unbeaten in Sky Bet League One with the point, but found it tough to break down a strong Dale side.

Rosler admits that the reason behind the lack of chances was because they were playing against a quality side.

“We played against a Rochdale team that made it hard for us,” said Rosler.

“They had a big chance, we had a big chance but in the end, it was scruffy in many ways.

“We are a little bit disappointed that we didn’t create that many goal scoring opportunities and that will be the focus in the games to come.”

Rosler also said in his post-match press conference that even though the side are still getting points, they need to get back into the winning mentality as the reward is much greater.

“We talked about it, we know we have to improve and go back to winning games because the reward from winning games is much higher than drawing games.

“I think that will be the focus for the next game that we go for forward in.

“I think it’s important that we keep our run going but we think, and understand, that three points are massively important and more rewarding than draws.”

Town’s boss was also eager to praise his side’s defensive efforts, following another clean sheet.

“They had a chance, we had a chance so our defence is rock solid.

“We have another clean sheet and it is no coincidence that we have been so strong and I think the basic foundation of our run is our defensive shape.

“We need to keep that, build on that but we also need to pass the ball better and be a bit more offensively minded in some situations.”
