Seven in and ten out for Fleetwood in the latest transfer window

It’s fair to say it’s been a busy January window at Fleetwood Town, so here’s a recap in case you missed anything.

Ben Davies became the first of seven new faces at Highbury when he joined on the 2nd, just hours before our Sky Bet League One fixture with Shrewsbury Town.

Just two days later young striker Alex Reid signed for an undisclosed fee from non-league side Rushall Olympic. The 21 year-old had scored 40 goals in 18 months for the Pics, and has since impressed for Paul Murray’s Development Squad.

The next day saw the first departure as Alex Jakubiak returned to his parent club Watford. Jakubiak has since gone back on loan to Sky Bet League Two side Wycombe Wanderers.

Young defender Akil Wright extended his stay with National League club Barrow until the end of the season, after a successful spell earlier in the season.

The 12th day saw Town make George Glendon’s loan from Manchester City a permanent one, with the midfielder signing an initial 18 month deal with the Cod Army.

The next day saw Liverpool left back Joe Maguire sign a permanent contract – but this wasn’t to be the last player to join from Anfield in this window…

Development Squad midfielders Elliot Osborne and Kieran Dunbar joined Stockport County and Stalybridge Celtic on short term loans respectively.

With just under two weeks to go in the window, Uwe Rosler made a double swoop by bringing in Wes Burns and Markus Schwabl.

Burns signed for a second spell with the club after spending the second half of last season on loan at Highbury, and signed a deal keeping him at the club until the summer of 2020.

Schwabl joined from German side VfR Aalen on a two and a half year deal, and will provide Glendon and Jimmy Ryan with competition in Town’s deep lying midfield role.

Aaron Amadi-Holloway joined Oldham Athletic on a permanent basis after signing for Fleetwood last summer.

With just four days left of the window Cameron Brannagan became Rosler’s seventh and final signing – joining on loan from Liverpool until the end of the season.

Deadline Day saw four players leave the club. Eggert Jonsson joined Soenderjyske, Nick Haughton joined Salford City on loan, Michael Duckworth heads to Morecambe on loan whilst Thomas Grant is now unattached.
