Uwe Rosler says Sunday’s 3-2 defeat against Peterborough United is difficult to take, after leading with two minutes to go.

Goals from Jack Marriott and Danny Lloyd saw Posh come from behind, after Cian Bolger had restored Town’s lead in the 83rd minute.

It was to be a first home defeat in eight games in all competitions, ahead of a busy Christmas period.

“It’s difficult to digest,” said Rosler.

“Two minutes before the end we are winning 2-1 and we lose the game. It’s hard for the group, hard for the staff, hard for the supporters and everyone at Fleetwood Town.

“Apart from the first 15-20 minutes, we were good in many ways. At the moment confidence is not really high, but the players played well considering they had less than three days to recover.

“The three goals we gave away; they can’t happen at this level and that cost us, simple as that.”

Despite being behind late in the game, Town still pushed to level the game, and hit the crossbar through Devante Cole in the 95th minute.

“My players showed a lot of will, a lot of character and I can’t criticise the effort.

“They played with a lot of character, with a lot of endeavour to get something out of the game, and my players deserved the win today.

“I told the players, you have to rewards yourself, you have to learn to win games and reward yourself.

“Everything was there, but the goals we conceded are difficult to accept.”
