Head Coach talks ahead of Charlton clash

Uwe Rosler says Fleetwood Town are ‘loving’ coming up against some of football’s big name clubs, as they prepare to welcome Charlton Athletic to Highbury on Saturday.

It’s the first competitive game between the two clubs, less than 10 years ago Charlton were operating in the Premier League with the Cod Army in the Northern Premier League.

And after Coventry City were the visitors last time around, Rosler said it’s something he and his players are relishing.

“It’s another very attractive game for Fleetwood Town,” said the Head Coach.

“At the start of the season our football club had never played Leeds United in a competitive game, we’d never played Bolton Wanderers in a competitive game, we played Coventry City last weekend and Charlton Athletic this.

“We are now playing these sort of clubs, and we are loving it.

“In all of those games so far we’ve done well against all of those sides, I actually think against the bigger clubs we can get 5%-10% more.”

Town could add Alex Jakubiak to their match day squad after the striker joined from Watford on deadline day last week.

It adds further options in attack for Rosler, who is delighted with his forward players so far.

He added: “I think they make it very difficult for defenders as they have great movement and they all have pace.

“They all bring something different for the team and compliment each other, there’s also a really good competition for places. Hopefully that continues.”
