Historic first games for our academy

play their first games as we welcomed Blackpool to Poolfoot Farm.AcademyLast weekend saw Fleetwood Town's brand new

The under 10s, 12s, 14s, and 16s were away at Myerscough College with the under 9s, 11s, 13s, and 15s at home at Poolfoot Farm Training Complex.

Across both venues the results were pleasing with the primary game focus on competing at the new Category 3 levels for the first time.

Across all ages the competitive edge and game focus was evident which is a credit to both the coaching programme and player’s application following a short four week period of initial training and preparation.

Youth development phase

We are very happy to have the training and games programme start for the Academy, and were really pleased at how our first games developed against our neighbours Blackpool. It was a fantastic achievement for the club getting our Category three status and to see all the players turn out in their Fleetwood Town match kit across all the ages.

As a group we looked professional and we are all looking forward to playing Tranmere in our next fixture.

Enjoying getting to know all the players across the Academy and watching them develop. Exciting times.

Foundation Phase

It has been fantastic to finally get the Academy underway this month.

After being heavily involved during the trial process at the end of last season where, during a four week period we saw over 200 young players, it’s been amazing to see the teams come together.

It is such an exciting time for all involved at the club and for myself to finally get started as the Foundation Phase Lead Coach.

With a combination of our structured training programme and in-house games it has be a great opportunity for all players, parents, coaches and staff to get to know on another.
