Head Coach offers thought's after FA Cup result

Uwe Rosler says that he is not frustrated with the 0-0 Emirates FA Cup First Round draw with Southport as his players gave him ‘everything’.

Town created the better of the chances at Merseyrail Community Stadium on Monday night, but couldn’t find the elusive goal meaning the sides will now contest a replay at Highbury Stadium.

Rosler however, was pleased with what he saw from his team in the second period.

“The longer the game went on the more on top we got,” said the Cod Army Head Coach.

“We had the far bigger chances at the end of the game and with those chances we should have won the game.

“In general we can’t be frustrated because the players give me everything, every week. I’m using at the moment 13 or 14 players and you can see that.”

The German did say after the match that his team is still improving and will learn ahead of the replay next week.

“We wanted to win the tie and didn’t really want another game but I had every offensive option on the pitch at the end and it nearly paid dividend.

“Some players at the moment are at a level which is dangerous to pick up injuries and they’re not going fresh into the games but it doesn’t really help when we have three games in six days.

“I’m happy with them in general and we will improve.”

Full ticketing details for the Emirates FA Cup First Round replay with Southport will be announced in due course.
