Head Coach reacts after 2-1 win over Chesterfield

Uwe Rosler is happy with the way his team set out against Chesterfield and is enjoying using the alternative players in his squad.

Rosler mentioned in his post-match press conference how he thought his team dominated for most of the game and was happy with the amount of effort exuded by them.

“How we coped with it, how we played for probably 75-80 minutes, I take my hat off for my players,” said the Head Coach.

“Both full-backs scored, we brought Victor on and he scored and Amari’i scored.

“I was very pleased how we had control over the game for the majority of the time.”

Rosler added a few new players to his team for this game and he revealed that they played well, even under his expectations.

“I said in the match programme that three four or five players made a big impact and they had to bide their time but they showed the consistency in their approach, in training and in development games.

“I felt they were ready now and I mentioned players like George Glendon, Alex Cairns and Victor Nirennold.

“They were ready to step up to the plate, they did themselves justice and this is why they are putting pressure on our established players.

“I’m looking forward to have everybody well and at my disposal and then I think we will get stronger and stronger.”

The German thought that although his team played well throughout the game, they gave up possession too easily at times.

“The front two were excellent, in the midfield, we were strong at times.

“We had a lot of youth in the middle with a lot of talent and ability but sometimes we lacked a bit of experience in the middle of the pitch.

“In general, every player gave 110% and that’s the way forward and it was a massive win for us.”
