Lancashire official to ref Emirates FA Cup tie
Lancashire’s David Webb will be making his second appearance as the man in the middle at Highbury this season during Tuesday’s Emirates FA Cup First Round replay with Southport.
Webb was also in charge of the Cod Army’s 2-0 victory over Oxford United on the 17th of August and Town will settle for a repeat result this time around.
Just one card was issued that evening, with Bobby Grant seeing yellow after pulling back a U’s player.
Webb was seen most recently officiating the Checkatrade Trophy match between Wolves under 23’s and Accrington Stanley which finished 4-0 to the Molineux side last Tuesday night.
Of the 18 games Webb has taken charge of this season, he has only found the need to send off one player. Accrington Stanley goalkeeper Elliot Parish was the man who saw red during his side’s EFL Cup victory over Bradford City in August.
Interestingly none of Webb’s last 15 matches have ended all-square so perhaps extra-time looks unlikely at Highbury on Tuesday evening.
Webb will be assisted by Billy Khatib and Peter Gooch whilst Gary Hilton will be the fourth official.
