Head Coach quotes from pre-match press conference

Head Coach Uwe Rosler spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League One fixture with Chesterfield at Highbury Stadium.

Below is a section of his interview in transcript form.

On how the players are looking in training after a busy period of matches…

“I think that when you are winning again, everything gets easier. It counts for the players, it counts for the staff and the 4-1 win – and the way we got the win in the end brought a lot of energy to the place.”

On players preferring to play games rather than training…

“I always liked to train because I knew that if I trained well I played well. I suppose it’s different for me because I come from a different part of the world where there is a different approach to training. I think in England it is very much the upbringing is more games the better, and then adapting to that as a player and now I am adapting as a manager. When you’re on the training ground you want to reinforce things, and even more it is important when you win games. When you play in midweek there is not much work you can do on the pitch, you have to rely on your experience and on your knowhow over the years. But we have a lot of young players so that makes it a little bit challenging.”

On Chesterfield being dangerous opponents on Saturday…

“In our league (these stats) count for nothing. Even in the Premier League it is very even at times and for us in the EFL, we have to start at 0-0 with a 50/50 chance and do our stuff – it’s as simple as that. We can’t go into any games thinking we have won the game already.
