Goal scorer speaks to media after Saturday's draw...

Full-back Conor McLaughlin spoke to the press after Saturday's 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon...

On rescuing a point with a late goal…

“I thought in the first half we were the better team and we had some good chances and I thought we were unfortunate to only be one up. They came out in the second half like we knew they were going to and put us under a little bit of pressure. They got the goal from the set-piece and then got a penalty which wasn’t a penalty but we were happy to come away with a penalty in the end.”

On not losing the momentum from winning the previous three games…

“It’s massive. Our home form has been good but we’ve wanted to do better away from home so to first of all stop the losses away from home is important. In the end, we were unlucky to just come away with the one point in the end. It’s something to build on.”

On continuing a fantastic scoring run…

“It’s strange! Amari’i (Bell) said in the last few games that when gets one, he usually gets on straight after another and now it’s happened to me! If we can chip in and help the strikers then it’ll be a better season for us.”

On scoring his first goal for Northern Ireland in the recent international break…

“It was unbelievable. It’s an honour even playing for your country let alone scoring. It’s something I will remember for a long time.”
