Loanee disappointed to lose on league debut

George Glendon says he felt like Fleetwood ‘dominated the whole game’ despite losing 2-1 away at Port Vale on Saturday.

Midfielder Glendon, on loan from Manchester City, marked the match at Port Vale as his full league debut for the club.

“I’ve had to be patient,” said Glendon.

“I’ve been working hard on my fitness and my strength because this is totally different to what I’ve been playing at with City.

“I have to work hard now to stay in the team and keep my shirt.”

Town opened the scoring against Port Vale but two late second half goals at Vale Park saw the Cod Army slip to a third straight away defeat.

“It’s very disappointing.

“I felt like we dominated the whole game – especially in the second half. We gave two rubbish goals away but we need to be more clinical in the final third.

“I felt like I played ok. I played in midweek against Carlisle so I feel like my fitness is getting better, but you always have to be ready to play.

“You can only learn from him (Uwe Rosler). He’s a top manager who is spot on with his tactics and the way he wants us to play.”
