Details about Premier League Girls Football Programme

The Premier League Girls Football programme is run jointly by the Premier League, Sport England, The FA and Football League Trust to encourage more females aged 11 – 25 to take part in football.

The sessions have been delivered by 87 clubs from the Premier League and Football League.

The PL programme has already seen over 200 girls engaged in the several different project and events over the last few months including over 160 in our primary and secondary girls football festival for part of FA Girls Football Week.

A Fleetwood Town Girls under 18's football team has been established for those who want to play more competitive football. The programme will see an additional 100 or more girls engaged over the next 12 months.

The programme will see 5 satellite clubs at school and community venues across Wyre, and also offers opportunities to play in football tournaments and represent Fleetwood Town against other football clubs across the country.

While the emphasis of the programme is on increasing participation, it works closely with the club’s Girls Football Clubs which play in a more competitive environment.

Talented players from the programme could make it through to teams and even representing Fleetwood Town at Youth Level.
