Fleetwood Town Flyers Walking Football Club recently held a four team tournament at the Club’s training ground at Poolfoot Farm. The event was a North West qualifying round of the over 50's Walking Football United National Tournament which involves 117 teams nationwide.
On the day, Fleetwood Town were competing against Blackpool Senior Seasiders, Blackburn Rovers WFC and Colne WFC in a six-a-side round robin tournament.
Victorious were Blackburn Rovers who now move on to the next stage, with Blackpool in second, Town in third and Colne in fourth.
Fleetwood won their visit game as they beat Colne 1-0, and played out a goaless draw against winners Blackburn in the second game.
Heading into the final figure, Fleetwood knew they had to beat Blackpool to set up a Play-Off fixture with Rovers, but sadly lost to the Seasiders.
The Flyers are in the process of setting up a partnership with Co-operative Food at Larkholme who provided fresh fruit and bottled water on the day for all the teams.
