Town haven't lost a league game at Highbury since December

Steven Pressley is hoping his side’s form at Highbury will continue on Tuesday evening when Town welcome Walsall to the Fylde Coast.

The Cod Army haven’t lost on home soil since December 28th against Wigan Athletic, so will be looking to extend their run against the Saddlers.

Town were defeated 2-1 at Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon, with Mark Duffy’s brace in each half increasing the Brewers’ lead at the top of the Sky Bet League One table.

Pressley said: “As I said post match on Saturday there’s been very few occasions since I’ve been here where I’ve been disappointed with the way we’ve gone about things.

“Saturday was a blip because we were in really good form before that, and given the way we had played I expected us to go to the league leaders and win.

“That’s the standards we’ve set and the players can’t fall below those. Going there expecting to win shows we’re going in the right direction.

“I know how disappointed the boys were but that’s why I love this group of players. They’re a very honest group who want to do really well.”

The Scotsman was impressed by Walsall’s performance away at Chesterfield at the weekend, as they ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.

“I watched their game back and it wasn’t just the result that impressed me, it was the performance too as it was a very positive one.

“They’ve had a fantastic season so far so it’s going to be a really tough game for us. We’re at home though and it’s a place where we’ve had some really positive results.

“We can take a big step towards survival though if we win this game in hand, and the players need to respond because it’s a game that can enhance our chances of staying up.”
