Striker spent two seasons with the Brewers

Ash Hunter is hoping for a goalscoring return when he visits his former side Burton Albion with the Cod Army on Saturday afternoon.

Hunter spent two seasons with the Brewers earlier in his career, but left to join Ilkeston before penning a deal at Highbury last year.

The youngster has been in and amongst the goals in recent weeks, and got on the scoresheet last week when Town drew 2-2 with Sheffield United.

Ahead of the game, he said: “Burton are a club that I know very well as I spent two years there but wasn’t really given a chance. Saturday is a good chance now for me to prove myself against them.

“It was nice to score against them earlier on in the season, but I’d love to go to the Pirelli and score against them there as that would be even better.

“I thought we deserved to win last week’s game in the end but a few bad decisions cost us the game. You can’t always get them your way though.

“Burton go into the game off the back of a defeat on Tuesday, so hopefully we can go there in confident mood and snatch three points.

“They’ve changed a couple of managers since I’ve been there, but they’re a physical team and work hard for each other.

“We’ll have to be ready for the battle but I’m confident if we play our stuff we can probably out pass them on the day.”
