Exciting programme is aimed at 15-17 year olds

The National Citizen Service Programme (NCS) is an action-packed and proactive programme filled with fun and adventure.

Young people take part in residential activities that will encourage them to take responsibility for their own actions and development.

They will also have a real life opportunity to make a difference in their local community by planning and delivering their very own social action project!

This helps to equip young people with the skills and experiences necessary to boost their CV and confidence.

The programme is for 15-17 year olds and aims to give them the chance to challenge themselves, learn new skills and meet new people.

The NCS programme, and in particular the skills and experiences gained by NCS graduates, is now recognised positively by employers and educational institutions such as UCAS.

Get Together

The first part of the NCS Summer programme is an action-packed, activity residential at Tower Wood Outdoor Centre.

Each day the group will be challenged in different ways whilst undertaking outdoor activities. They will face individual challenges but have the support of team mates to help to overcome any fears they may have.

No team will make it through this experiencing without mastering the art of communication and encouraging one another, making lifelong friends along the way.

Get Involved

The second week is based closer to your local community. Individuals and their teams will face the initial challenge of staying in accommodation whilst budgeting and catering for themselves – a real taste of independence.

During this week your team will undertake different workshops in order to learn skills that may help you with your social action project.

Make Your Mark

Having learnt all about your local community, you’ll work in your group to plan and pitch for funding for your very own community action project that can make a real difference to where you live. You will then make your mark in your local area, delivering your community action project with your team.

And Celebrate

At the end of this programme, each participant will attend an official graduation ceremony after completing all four parts of the challenge.

You will receive a graduation certificate at the ceremony which you will attend with your close family and the members of the community that you worked with over the summer.
