Striker is currently out in Holland with the first team squad

Fleetwood Town striker Devante Cole is hopeful that the Cod Army can enjoy a positive trip to Holland for their pre-season tour, as preparations continue for the third term in League One.

Cole, who is embarking on his first pre-season with the Club, having signed in January from Bradford City, had his say on the first few weeks of training, and the upcoming tour of Holland. The squad fly out on Sunday for six days.

Speaking to Town’s official website, Cole said: “It’s been good, obviously it has been a really tough few weeks, but all the boys have got on with it, we have got a lot of hard work done, which is what pre-season is about.

“It is a lot different to any other pre-season that I’ve done, but everything is gelling together, everyone’s getting fit, and as we get to Holland, we’ll see and we’ll get the benefits.

Offering up his thoughts on the tour, in which FTFC will come up against Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar, Cole continued: “I think it will be good for all the lads to get away for a little bit, it will be a change from coming here every day, which will be nice.

“You go abroad, you play against different teams, see how they play with different styles, it is pre-season and it helps you.

“It’s a big team in Holland, so I’m looking forward to that, to be able to put yourself against one of the best."
