28-year-old joins Norwegian side StabaekFleetwood Town can confirm Marcus Nilsson has joined Norwegian side Stabaek.
The defender played eleven times at Highbury after arriving from Swedish club Kalmar in February.
But following interest from a number of Scandinavian clubs, the 28-year-old headed to Norway in an undisclosed deal.
Nilsson said: “I want to thank everyone at Fleetwood Town for the months I spent there.
“It was an honour to be part of a great club, I wish everyone there all the best for the future.”
Fleetwood are currently on a tour of Holland ahead of the new season starting on August 6, and Technical Director Gretar Steinsson says it's a deal which benefits both sides.
He said: “There was a lot of interest from overseas in Marcus, particularly from some top clubs in Scandinavia.
“We are glad to get a deal done which suits both parties, we'd like to thank him for his professionalism and wish him well for the future."
