Three points could move Town out of the relegation zoneSteven Pressley admits he knows the task in hand when his side travel to Bradford City for a Sky Bet League One encounter on Saturday afternoon.
The Scotsman is expecting a tough test against the Bantams, and wants his players to rise to the occasion at one of the division’s biggest stadiums.
Town currently occupy 21st position in the table and know that three points this weekend would move them out of the relegation places.
Pressley said: “Valley Parade is a great place to go and play football as the atmosphere is really good, so for us we should be excited about going there on Saturday.
“I watched them on Tuesday night and their fans generate an atmosphere. It’s up to us to quieten that atmosphere down because they play a major role in the success there.
“When momentum builds they get behind their team, so it’s quite an intimidating place to go for young players and we have to show we an handle that.
“They’re a physical side who always ask questions of you and like to get balls in the box. They’re dangerous from set-plays and we have to stand up to the game.”
And Pressley is hoping new signing Devante Cole will develop as a player at Highbury after he signed a permanent deal from Bradford last Friday.
“Sometimes a different environment suits a particular player, and we hope our environment will suit Devante and his development.
“I was very open and transparent with him over what we expect here, and the only way he’ll progress is by buying into that.
“So he knows what we expect so it’s all about working hard and hopefully together we can progress his career even further.
“We’ve got plenty of attacking options up front for the game, with the likes of Ash Hunter, Alex Kiwomya, David Henen, Bobby Grant and Jamille Matt.
“It’s pleasing to have so many options because it’s something I’ve wanted for some time, and we seem to have it at the moment.”
