Steven Pressley is hoping youngster Joe Davis can progress at Highbury after the defender signed a permanent deal with the Club today.Davis, who has been with the Cod Army on loan from Leicester City since October, has been a regular in Pressley’s side.
The former Port Vale man becomes Town’s second signing of the window, after striker David Henen extended his stay from Everton until the end of the season.
Pressley said: “I’m really pleased with the signing. He’s really impressed me since coming to the Club as his attitude and level of professionalism are great.
“He’s a little bit old school in some respects and you can see he’s had a good upbringing and influence from his Father.
“It took a few days of negotiations but we’ve finally managed to get it over the line. We’re all very happy that he’s signed.
“It’s brought a degree of continuity to us as well because Joe has integrated really well within the group. It makes for an easy transition for him.
“He’s only young at 21 and has got a lot of development in him. In the eight weeks or so I’ve worked with him I’ve seen really good progress.
“The one thing about him is that he really wants to progress and his level of performances for us so far have been really high.
“During his time on loan he fitted in very well with everyone. He’s the right fit for this football club and wants to progress here.”
