The Cod Army travel to Bradford City this weekend
Goalkeeper Chris Maxwell insists Town’s players must keep their focus with a number of games to come over the coming weeks. The Cod Army head to Bradford City on Saturday afternoon before welcoming Barnsley and Shrewsbury Town to Highbury on Thursday and Sunday respectively.
Maxwell was part of the Fleetwood side that drew 2-2 in dramatic fashion in West Yorkshire last season when Nathan Pond rescued a dramatic equaliser in the dying moments.
And the Welshman believes they can go there with confidence this weekend, with a number of important fixtures ahead of them.
He said: “It was a dramatic game for us against Bradford last season. They’re a big strong team who are very physical and direct.
“It’ll be another tough game for us no doubt but we’ve got the character to deal with that and also the ability to go at them.
“This period coming up now over the next few weeks will be a difficult one, but it’s one we’re all relishing and is a sequence of games we all want to play in.
“We’re playing well and are unbeaten in 2016 which is a massive positive. We’re certainly playing well and are looking up at this moment in time.
“We’ve got a couple of games in hand which we’re looking to take full advantage of which will get us away from the bottom four and look towards the upper end.
“Hopefully we can carry on this momentum which we’ve got, and in the process book a place at Wembley too when we play Barnsley next week.
“If we can come out of the next three games with six points and a trip to Wembley then it’ll represent a really good week for the Club.”
