Sarcevic: We need to be more resilient away from home

Midfielder was left frustarted at the final whistle last night

Antoni Sarcevic wants Town to show more of a resilient quality away from home after slipping to defeat against Rochdale last night.

The Cod Army went in to the game off the back of an impressive win at home to Scunthorpe United at Highbury last weekend, but failed to build on their run in Greater Manchester.

Midfielder Sarcevic caught the eye in midfield with a number of attacking bursts, however was left frustrated at the final whistle.

He said: “It was a sloppy goal to concede when we were dominating the game. Conceding such a goal always gave us a mountain to climb.

“My own individual performance doesn’t count as I’d rather play poorly and we win, because it’s all about winning now given the position we’re in.

“We have to start being more ruthless in front of goal, and like the gaffer has said we have to make these games in hand count.

“We performed well on Saturday and showed a resilient side to us, but we need to show that quality a little bit more away from home.

“We seem to be able to do it when we play at Highbury, but it’s just on the road where we seem to be struggling with it somewhat.”
