Manager spoke to media after Tuesday's match at Spotland

Steven Pressley felt tonight's narrow defeat to Rochdale at Spotland was a big chance missed for his side to climb the table.

Joe Bunney's goal early in the first half won the game for Dale, and despite creating a number of opportunities the Cod Army left Greater Manchester empty handed.

Town's next game will be on the road once more when they visit Pressley's former team Coventry City on Saturday afternoon.

He said: "The most important thing tonight was the three points and we've come away without them. It was a big chance missed by ourselves.

"I said prior to the game the importance of tonight, and I'm really disappointed. We shouldn't have lost the game but we have to win these types of games.

"I didn't think we played at our top tonight but still did enough to win it. We had enough of the ball but not enough players too responsibility.

"At times we took the easy option and weren't positive enough in possession. I'm disappointed because like I said it was about the three points.

"At the moments where we had to be positive, we weren't positive enough. That's another disappointing factor.

"I spoke a lot to the players about switching the ball into wide areas where we have to be aggressive, and we weren't that tonight.

"Too many of us looked for the next player to make it happen and we're better than that."
