Striker has featured 17 times for Bristol City this season

Steven Pressley has insisted new signing Wes Burns will get plenty of game time with Town after he signed a loan deal until May 8th today.

Burns is a Wales Under 21 international who has played 17 times for the Ashton Gate outfit during the 2015/16 campaign.

The youngster has previous experience on loan at Forest Green Rovers, Oxford United and Cheltenham Town, and will now be hoping to impress in the third tier with the Cod Army.

Manager Steven Pressley said: “Wes adds strength to our group as we prepare for a 17 game programme over such a short period of time.

“From our experiences over the last two or three months we’ve been thin on the ground, and that has been really evident recently.

“We’ve played a number of players out of position and have asked different things from them, with the likes of Conor McLaughlin playing in central midfield against Shrewsbury.

“It’s clear that we require more strength in depth and Wes will bring competition to the group as well as goals.

“He’ll get game time here because we’ve got so many games in such a short period of time. It’s healthy for him and healthy for the group.”
