Academy prospect commits future to the Cod Army

Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce Billy Crellin has agreed a three-year professional contract with the club.

The young goalkeeper has been rewarded for his superb form for the U18s with a long-term deal keeping him at Highbury until at least the summer of 2020.

Fleetwood born Crellin joined the club's Juniors at the age of eight and has since worked his way through our youth system to earn the offer of a professional contract.

On the news, Chairman Andy Pilley said: “We are delighted to have secured the services of Billy for three years, he’s a player we are all really excited by at the club.

“What’s just as exciting is that Billy is a Fleetwood lad and a Fleetwood Town supporter, I’m sure the fans will be delighted to see one of their own signing professional terms for the club.

“There’s obviously a lot of hard work ahead for Billy, but he’s a player we are looking forward to watching develop into hopefully becoming Fleetwood Town’s number one.”
