Kip praises Rosler's impact on the squad

Midfielder impressed with new Head Coach's start at Town

Fleetwood Town midfielder Ricardo Kip has praised the impact Uwe Rosler has already had on the Cod Army squad.

Roster, who was named as the club’s new Head Coach on Sunday, has spent his first couple of days in the role at Town’s Pooolfoot Farm Training Ground, getting to grips to his new surroundings and players.

And summer signing Kip revealed that he has been impressed with Rosler’s start to life at the helm of the Fylde Coast outfit.

Kip said: “He wants to play football, and he has set things straight with the brand of football that he wants to play, so it has been a positive start. It is nice to have him here, so I hope that it will be a good season for us all.”

The 24-year-old former Ajax youth prospect will hope to play his first competitive game in Sky Bet League One, when Rosler’s side kick-off the new season with a trip to newly-promoted Northampton Town at Sixfields Stadium on Saturday.

And the industrious Kip is going into the unknown, having never played outside his native Holland in his career before his summer transfer to Fleetwood, but is relishing the encounter at Rob Page’s Cobblers.

The Dutchman continued: “I have no idea what to expect in League One, as I have never played in that division. I’m looking forward to getting my first minutes out on the pitch against Northampton Town.

“When you are promoted to a higher level, you want to start off with a win, and it will be a tough test to for us to start the season with, but we are confident of starting well.”

Kip, along with his club team-mates, were present at a supporters signing session on Tuesday afternoon, and he was delighted to see young members of Fleetwood’s support out in full force.

“You see the children loving meeting their heroes, the guys that they support, he explained.

“It is great to give something back to the fans who cheer us on every week, we really appreciate it.

“These kind of days are always lovely, the kids are excited to see the players of the club, they enjoyed it, so it is nice to see that.”
