JOB VACANCY: Fleetwood Town Press Officer 

Fleetwood Town are currently recruiting for a role within its Communications Department.

We and are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual with excellent written, new media and interpersonal skills to help the club continue to provide content across all of its digital and non-digital platforms as well as liaise with local and national media and maintain communication with supporters.

Based at the club’s training facility Poolfoot Farm, this position is an opportunity to work at the heart of a fast-paced, demanding yet exciting industry at close quarters with the Cod Army coaching and playing staff. The primary aim of the role will be to produce engaging visual content for use across all digital media platforms, contribute to the daily tasks of an extremely busy communications operation and assist with the club’s marketing department.

Job Title: Press officer and marketing assistant 
Reports to: Head of Communications
Department: Communications

Key Tasks

Day to day maintenance of club websites & all social media and create simple protocols and processes for other departmental social media feeds.
Provide day to day support to the club’s Head of Communications (HOC) in delivering quality output to both the media and via the club’s media platforms.
Prepare all relevant content for the club’s match day programmes.
Provide interesting and relevant content for club’s media platforms and for the general media.
Produce and disseminate press releases in conjunction with the clubs HOC.
Prepare press conferences and support delivery of such events, liaising with media where appropriate.
Ensure match day press box and media requests are all actioned.
Responsible for the smooth running of all press and other media requirements on match days. 
Request relevant media accreditation for all club media representation at away fixtures.
Source and manage internships and work experience cohorts to support and improve on Press Office functions.
Create and manage processes across the club to ensure that other club functions, Commercial, Banqueting, Community Trust, Crossbar, Poolfoot & Academy requests for media output is delivered in a structured manner, giving need for priorities, relevance and suitability is maintained.
Create simple graphics and marketing material for media platforms and for marketing activity.
Support simple marketing activity across club functions, such as social media campaigns, and e-shots.
Liaise with the Group’s marketing department on larger detailed graphics and content output requirements.
Continually find ways to improve the clubs media output.

Beneficial Skills/Requirements

Essential:

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Communications/Journalism (Requirement)
• Strong written, audio/visual and interpersonal skills (Requirement)
• Strong organisational skills (Requirement)
• Comfortable with working outside of ‘traditional’ office hours to meet the requirements of fixtures and club business (Requirement)
• At least 18 months in-house or agency experience in a relevant industry 
• Experience with video-editing software such as Adobe Premiere (Requirement)
• Experience with graphic design and picture editing software such as Adobe Photoshop (Requirement)
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

• Experience with Football League interactive (FLi) online Content Management System
• Experience of working in a professional sports environment
