Trust secure £27,100 towards opportunities for youngsters with disabilities

Fleetwood Town Community Trust has been awarded £27,100 from the Wembley National Stadium Trust (WNST) towards the costs of new football and sporting opportunities for young people with disabilities across Wyre.

WNST already funds a wide range of community sports work in LB Brent and is also in the final year of a disability sports funding programme working across Greater London (London United).

WNST is looking to broaden its geographical spread across the whole country.

The WNST partnership with the EFL Trust will make around £1.1m available for disability projects over the next three years.

Matt Hilton, Fleetwood Town's Director of the Community, said: "We are delighted to have been selected to deliver such a worthwhile programme having seen off stiff competition.

"This provision will build upon our existing work in schools and the wider community in providing youngsters with a disability with high quality sporting opportunities."
