21-year-old to remain at Highbury until the end of the season

Fleetwood Town are delighted to confirm the signing of Burnley striker Chris Long.

The 21-year-old arrives at Highbury on loan until the end of the season after a deal was agreed between the two clubs this morning.

Long, an England U20 international, made eleven appearances for the Clarets in the Championship last season after coming through the youth ranks at Everton.

On the deal, Fleetwood Head Coach Uwe Rosler said: “We are delighted to sign Chris, he turned down many other options to join us.

“He’s a player I’ve known for a long-time and I actually tried to sign when I was manager of Wigan.

“Our Technical Director has been working on the deal for a number of months and I am delighted we have finally been able to bring him to Fleetwood Town.

“Chris fits our profile, he’s a versatile player who can play right across the front three and we are excited by the signing.

“He has the quality and personality to fit into what we are trying to achieve here at Fleetwood Town.

“I’d like to thank Burnley Football Club and Sean Dyche for trusting us with one of his top talents."
