Manager gave an honest assessment to the press

Manager Steven Pressley gave his reaction to the media following his side’s 1-0 defeat to Millwall at The Den this evening.

Despite dominating much of play, Town were beaten by Steve Morison’s second half strike as he chipped the ball over Chris Maxwell.

The result meant the Cod Army stay in 19th place, and attention now turns to Saturday afternoon’s local derby against Blackpool at Highbury.

After the game, Pressley said: “I think tonight’s game itself encapsulates our season. We’ve dominated and had chance after chance but couldn’t score.

“It’s difficult for me to sit here and keep saying the same thing. If you are to look over the past 25 games or so we’ve statistically been ahead of everybody.

“It’s not decided statistically though. It’s decided by key moments in the box and we’ve missed those moments as a team tonight.

“Millwall were more clinical with what was possibly their one and only chance in the game. You could see by their supporters how much on top we were.

“The game on Saturday is now a massive one for us. It’s going to be a sell out and it’s a fixture we have to win, there’s no doubt about it.

“It’s a huge one both clubs and we have to be ready. We will be more than ready for it but just have to be clinical in front of goal.”
