Striker scored his fifth goal for the Club in tonight's win

Wes Burns admitted that he is really enjoying his football at Highbury after netting his fifth goal for the Club in tonight’s 2-0 win over Peterborough.

The Welshman is currently on-loan with the Cod Army from Championship side Bristol City, and has created a real impression on the Fylde Coast.

He netted the opening goal against Swindon Town on Saturday afternoon, and followed that up with a calm finish to give his side the lead at home to the Posh this evening.

After the game, he said: “It was a massive three points for us tonight as they’re the most important thing at the moment.

“Coming into the game we knew they were the highest scorers in the league so to keep a clean sheet against them shows how well we played.

“We try to start every game like a house on fire and with our pressing game we just like to get at teams as quickly as possible.

“It puts them on the back foot straight away so to obviously test the keeper early on is in our game plan, and it worked for us tonight.

“We’re capable of pressing any side for 90 minutes as we’ve shown recently. It comes from the training ground because we put the work in there.

“We do a lot of small sided games in tight areas and we’re really good at it so cute little finishes such as that one is what we’re all about.

“It’s good to play up front with the likes of Bobby because he knows what I want to do and I know what he wants to do. We work well.

“To be fair it’s probably the first time I’ve had a real good run of games and I’m just glad I’ve been given the opportunity to come up here and get games.

“I’m glad to be able to repay the team and the manager for showing faith in me, and I’m really enjoying football at the moment.”
