Deacon, Dsane and Sheron were the Cod Army's scorers

Development squad manager Barry Nicholson believed his side did enough to win the game against Burnley at Gawthorpe this afternoon.

Keano Deacon gave his side the lead in the first period but the Clarets responded twice to take the lead.

Eddie Dsane then pulled a goal back midway through the second half before Nathan Sheron put the Cod Army ahead.

With four minutes remaining, the home side equalised with a cool finish into the bottom corner to complete a thriller at Burnley's training ground.

Nicholson said: "We're a little bit disappointed that we haven't won the game as I thought we probably did enough to win it.

"The goals we conceded were obviously pretty poor but we'll back at the video and see what went wrong on them.

"I thought first half we didn't really pass the ball as well as we can, and the conditions had a part to play in that.

"Keano opened the scoring for us but then we conceded two goals which was disappointing.

"The lads showed great character to come back into it though and go 3-2 up.

"When we were ahead we were looking to see out the game then and not concede again.

"Unfortunately we didn't do that and it's all parts of the game we still need to learn.

"You need that little bit of game knowledge to see the game out but today we just didn't manage it."
