Town travel to the DW Stadium this weekend

Tyler Forbes believes confidence can be taken from Town’s past couple of league results as they prepare to take on Wigan Athletic this weekend.

The Latics occupy 10th position in the Sky Bet League One standings and are currently only a point ahead of Graham Alexander’s side.

A win for Town would see them move onto 12 points and would extend their unbeaten run to three games having drawn against Rochdale and Bradford City in recent weeks.

Forbes said: “We’ve picked up two draws from our past two games and thought we played really well. We were unlucky not to get the win in both games.

“If you play well and you think you deserved the win and come away with a point then it almost feels like you’ve been defeated.

“But the main thing for us is that we’ve not lost our last two games. We’ve played really well and have put points on the table.

“It’s great that the manager is giving young players like myself, Nick, Akil, Ash and Max all a chance to prove ourselves in the team.

“We’ve got a good squad here so it could change at anytime. If you don’t do what he expects then he’ll change things around.

“The experienced lads are very helpful in the dressing room and out on the pitch too as they’re individuals to look up to.

“It’s going to be a massive game for us on Saturday but we’re going to take it like any other game and aim for the three points.

“We’ve dealt with big stadiums before so there’s no fears for us at all. All we can do is just look forward to the game.”
