Striker has netted eight league goals so far this termFleetwood Town youth team forward Mamadou Djabi has revealed his delight after continuing his fine form in-front of goal with a brace in a 2-0 win away at Wigan Athletic on Saturday morning.
The Liverpudlian talisman proved to be the difference as he ensured that Town’s U18’s got back to winning ways, with goals either side of half-time confirming a comfortable victory at Robin Park.
His two-goals means he has now scored in his last four league games for the young Codlings, as Nathan Rooney’s side are sitting pretty in the upper echelons of the North West Youth Alliance League table.
Speaking to the Club website following his brace, Djabi said: “It feels good to get goals again, I want to continue this form and keep helping the team.
“Of course, it is what every striker wants to do, to score goals for their team and I’m looking forward to going home knowing that I have helped us gain another important three points against a good side.
“Hopefully we can kick-on now, as we have got ourselves into a very strong position in the league standings, something which will provide us with motivation heading forward into future weeks and months.
Town bounced back in the perfect way at Robin Park following back-to-back defeats at the hands of Shrewsbury Town and Rochdale respectively, and Djabi is pleased at the manner that he and his team-mates bounced back.
He continued: “Unfortunately we lost the last two games, and we knew that we had to put that to bed, and thankfully we had the character to bounce back in a strong manner and win the game and ultimately that is what we did.
“We played against 10 men for such a long period of the game, so to come through it was a great feeling.”
