Striker was recalled to the side at the weekend

David Ball admits the Town side have to be in the right mindset for the whole 90 minutes when they travel to Gillingham on Tuesday night.

The striker returned to the side for the weekend’s game at home to Port Vale, but two second half Valiant goals condemned the Cod Army to defeat.

Graham Alexander’s side will look to put things right at the Priestfield Stadium however, and have fond memories of Kent having picked up thee points their last season.

Ball said: “When you lose in the manner that we did on Saturday you just want to have a quick came come around so we can put things right.

“Hopefully we can go to Gillingham on Tuesday night and put in a performance that warrants that.

“It’s always a difficult place to go to but I think any game in the league is a difficult one.

“We’ve got to be in the right mindset for 90 minutes and go there and get something.

“The lads were all upset with themselves at the weekend because we know we’re all better than that.

“We competed in the first half but didn’t in the second, and that’s what happens and you get punished for mistakes.

“I enjoyed playing behind Jamma on Saturday because I feel I can bring people into play and start up attacks.

“I was obviously frustrated with the result as I’d have liked to have come back into the side and win the game.”
