Cod Army host Burton Albion on Saturday afternoon
Steven Pressley is striving for improvement from his Town players as they prepare to take on Burton Albion at Highbury this weekend.The Scotsman took charge of his first game in the dugout against former side Coventry City last weekend along with Neil MacFarlane.
He now believes the full week’s training had with the players will benefit them as the Brewers make the trip to the Fylde Coast on Saturday.
Ahead of the game, he said: “Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has excelled as manager of Burton Albion and led them to the League Two trophy last season.
“They have continued that momentum this season and built on the success with a very good start and find themselves joint top of the division.
“They’ve built this success on good fundamentals, they are well organised, hard-working and have a real togetherness within the group.
“In reflection to Saturday’s performance, after only two days on the training ground, the players performed the defensive principles to good effect.
“We must continue to improve on these aspects of the game because one clean sheet in 14 is not acceptable as a group and we all have to take a collective responsibility.
“The attacking aspect of our game must also improve and we have worked hard this week on trying to balance the improvement.”
